Symposia Bookstore celebrated its fourth anniversary yesterday with a small celebration honoring Mayor David Roberts and his wife, Anna Roberts, for giving them about a $3,000-per-month break on the rent for the space, which the Roberts own.

The non-profit used bookstore, located at 510 Washington St., offers author’s readings, book discussions, classes and other cultural events.

“David and Anna have saved us almost $150,000 by underwriting our rent right in the heart of Hoboken,” said the store’s owner, Cornel Rusu. “The Roberts family is truly a patron of the arts and we consider them real friends at Symposia.”
