Klystar by Leong Ying – book reading/signing – May 2nd at from 5 to 7 pm

What if the fundamental laws of thermodynamics could be used to prove the existence of a parallel universe, a twined realm where a single omnipotent consciousness is bonded by a force akin to love?
There was a philosophical time in our humanity when religion and science were inseparable, but rivalry and discord has since driven a great argumentative chasm between the two. Author Leong Ying takes readers into this fascinating world, following a young man, Leo, on his quest to discover his own origins and learn the truths of the universe.

Klystar is a gripping fable encompassing a bold scientific theory intended to bring healing to our conflicting souls. Readers will be captivated by Ying’s detailed world of the future its connections to the past, learning with Leo that the proof is in the numbers, and the meaning is in the words.

May 2nd from 5 to 7 pm.

Salon – Conversation Circle – May 25th at 7 pm

Symposia strives to provide a place where thinking people can freely exchange and commingle ideas, imaginations, energy, talents, wild-eyed visions–where we can comfortably and effectively suspend our assumptions about life in order to inquire into the unknown together.

Our inspiration was the concept of a neighborhood conversation salon promoted by the Utne Reader in the early 1990s. The gatherings we host aren’t much like the long-ago salons of Paris or New York, where authors, artists, and socialites would get together. There is nothing elitist about this salon. The gatherings probably most resemble encounters you may have had around campfires, over kitchen tables, in dorm rooms or at slumber parties, during times in your life when everyone you knew seemed eager to share visions and ideas.

Bring a snack to share and your adventurous spirit.

This month’s topic: Honesty: Is it always the best policy? Can you find instances in your life when it is not?
Facilitator: Phil DePinto

PUPPETONIA – Puppet Shows for Babies and Toddlers

Since its inception, Puppetonia has taught children so much more than just their ABC’s and 123′s. The music and puppet shows incorporate important social skills, early academics, thinking skills, motor skills, and self-expression.
The music is fun and upbeat, and the children are encouraged to move to the rhythm, follow verbal instructions, practice sequential movements, and have a great time. And there are bubbles galore!
