Painting Exhibition by Jessica Roberson – Sept, 26th from 4 to 7 pm

Come enjoy local artist Jessica Roberson’s paintings at Symposia.

Jessica in her own words:

“As an artist you visualize images differently than non-artists. I have studied art in college and taken private art lessons to sharpen my skills. Last year I was part of helping painting the mural at the 16th street Park.
My artistic style is working through color to paint still life, flowers, printmaking, the human figure, mixed media through painting and collage. My main focus is on fine arts at the moment. These paintings will show the varied range of my artistic interests.

“My Life as a Novel” – book reading/signing by local author John Bredin – Oct. 30th at 7 pm

Hoboken author John Bredin’s latest book, My Life as a Novel, proposes a radical new literary genre in which everyday people can become vital characters in their own life story. The book’s subtitle, “Manifesto on the Activist as Hero, and Other Ways to Not be Bored,” hints at the role activism might play in making a person’s life more meaningful, interesting, or “novelistic.”

PUPPETONIA – Puppet Shows for Babies and Toddlers

Since its inception, Puppetonia has taught children so much more than just their ABC’s and 123′s. The music and puppet shows incorporate important social skills, early academics, thinking skills, motor skills, and self-expression.
The music is fun and upbeat, and the children are encouraged to move to the rhythm, follow verbal instructions, practice sequential movements, and have a great time. And there are bubbles galore!
