Imagine Tomorrow – computer classes for young lerners
Location: | Symposia Bookstore 510 Washington St. Hoboken, NJ 07030 United States Map and Directions |
Information: | Imagine Tomorrow is custom curriculum and classes designed exclusively for young learners. The program uses technology as a tool for learning and self expression. Children learn how to apply today’s technology in fun and meaningful ways. Classes are designed for young children turning 3 up to age 7. The program aligns to national Head Start standards and has received recognition by the NAEYC for how it ties in early literacy skills so creatively.
The student teacher ratio is 5:1 so the children receive personal attention while each child works on their own laptop! The children come to class and become computer detectives. They go on a mission to one of the Imagine Tomorrow worlds to solve that day’s computer problem. Each lesson has a critical thinking component, creative component, a mouse and a keyboarding activity. The software adjusts to the academic and technical level of each child automatically. During class, children are never on the internet, all internet activities such as email and video conferencing are simulated in the software. However parents will be given a password to the ‘Online Adventure Journal’ so they can login the the Imagine Tomorrow website to see what their child has done in class. The adventure journal also allows the child to reinforce and show their parents what they have learned in class. With Imagine Tomorrow computer classes, children unleash their creativity and imagination as they learn to use the power of today’s technology as a meaningful tool for their future. The classes run from September through June. The sessions are broken up into 8 week blocks and we run 4 sessions through out the school year. Children may enroll at any point during the current session during the year. Visit Imagine Tomorrow for more information http://www.imaginetomorrow.com |
