Donations are the lifeline of our business. If you have used books, CDs, DVDs, games, toys that you don’t want anymore, you can drop them off at our store and we’ll give you a tax-deductible receipt!
Theater Wanderer presents… I am Emily: A Ukulele Song Cycle- Collaborative Performance & Open Meditation – Thursday, Dec. 1st at 7 pm
“I am Emily” is a song cycle comprised of poetry and letters by Emily Dickinson, as well as original poetry and music, by Lindsey Sherman. The piece explores life’s cycles through mindful observations of nature. This collaborative performance includes original music, movement, dance, and visual art.
The audience will be invited to use this time as a meditation in any form. Writing and art materials will be provided. However, you may bring your own art supplies and/or writing materials. The audience may also feel free to sit with eyes closed, move, dance, sing, make sound, or simply watch and listen.

Can You #!*% Believe What Happened? True Tales of Midlife Daters- Book Reading – Friday, Dec. 2nd at 7 pm
Come out for an entertaining evening of readings, refreshments, and a chance to win some prizes!
Local authors Eileen Budd and Rose Jakubaszek will be reading selections from their upcoming book, Can You #!*% Believe What Happened? True Tales of Midlife Daters. Readings will include TRUE, wacky, and, humorous stories like: A woman who’s looking for love – and a bathroom. A man whose first date is more Jurassic Park than a walk in the park. A Wall St. guy looking for a back door deal. And, a real life date with Rain Man that’s bizarrely funny. Yeah, funny. Definitely funny.
Guest readers will include Ann Anderson Evans, who’ll be reading her story about what it was like to dip her toes back into the dating pool as a midlife dater. She has published a memoir, Daring to Date Again.
Don’t miss this opportunity for a different kind of Friday night fun. These real-life stories about mid-life dating will have you laughing and shaking your head in disbelief. Who knows? You might even meet someone and leave with a dating story of your own!

Ready to Write – Workshop by John Mccaffrey – Thursday, Dec. 15th at 7 pm
Do you have a desire to write but are not sure how to begin? Has your writing hit a wall and you want to break through? Or do you just want to develop further as a writer and land that publishing contract? “Ready to Write,” a new monthly writing series at Symposia Community Bookstore, will meet all these needs and, most importantly, you’ll have fun in a safe, supported and creative environment.

Free Yoga Class – Every Wednesday at 7 pm
Have you always shied away from Yoga because you thought you weren’t very flexible?
Symposia is now opening its doors to a new environment for yoga practice: small classes, taught in a supportive, non-competitive manner, with individual attention. Students will be gently guided through basic yoga postures, yogic breathing, meditation, and relaxation techniques.

Since its inception, Puppetonia has taught children so much more than just their ABC’s and 123′s. The music and puppet shows incorporate important social skills, early academics, thinking skills, motor skills, and self-expression.
The music is fun and upbeat, and the children are encouraged to move to the rhythm, follow verbal instructions, practice sequential movements, and have a great time. And there are bubbles galore!
