Information: | Topic: “Loving Ways to Use Anger” Facilitator: Amy TorresAmy Torres is a New York City-based spiritual teacher, psychotherapist, writer and dancer. All her work is based on love. She can be reached at 212-340-1201 and iamurme8@msn.com. Codependency is a word that is thrown around a lot in the past 20 years and it’s a very broad term. When people are afraid to express angry, or when they express it destructively, that is a symptom of codependency–relationships that are enmeshed. Anger used in a loving way helps break the trance of codependent relationships–it is a form of self-loyalty in a way which helps everyone involved. Anger also cauterizes emotional wounds; it creates and firms psychological boundaries and it affirms a sense of innocence, a commitment to our personal sense of worthiness. Openness, consideration and respect are the foundation elements of vibrant community experiences. The Symposia Conversation Project is an experiment in community dialogue where people of different beliefs and points of view can engage in meaningful discourse that enlightens, challenges and enriches the participants. |
