Donations are the lifeline of our business. If you have used books, CDs, DVDs, games, toys that you don’t want anymore, you can drop them off at our store and we’ll give you a tax-deductible receipt!
Gentle Yoga Class – Every Wednesday at 7 pm (EXCEPT Sept. 3rd at 6.30 pm)
Have you always shied away from Yoga because you thought you weren’t very flexible?
Symposia is now opening its doors to a new environment for yoga practice: small classes, taught in a supportive, non-competitive manner, with individual attention. Students will be gently guided through basic yoga postures, yogic breathing, meditation, and relaxation techniques.

“Fancy Anansi” by Sudha Ramaswami – children’s book reading on Sept. 12th at 5 pm
Anansi the Spider is a trickster character found in many African folktales. In this story, Fancy Anansi takes on a modern day approach to life in the twenty-first century where children are raised with technology. Like all folktales about Anansi the Spider, Fancy Anansi also teaches life lessons.

“The Improbable Adventures of My Mischief” – children’s book reading on Sept. 26th at 6 pm
The book recounts the adventures of Archer and Fletch– two house rats catapulted from their condo and into a new life at Lincoln Center where they will discover compassion and courage on their way to making theater history.
A YAA series (Young Adult and After) Improbable Adventures is based on the real life mischief (that’s rat-jargon for family) of Archer, Fletch and educator/psychologist Dr. Cynthia Stuart. With author E. Merwin she has created a tale that will keep rat-keepers and other readers on the edge of their seats with NYC detail and a heartwarming (furless) tale.
Our book launch will include reading, healthy snacks for your rat (if you’re lucky enough to keep one) and a preview of Rat Kibble for the Soul!

Guitar Circle – Every Thursday at 8.30 pm
Come jam with local guitar players in a casual, friendly atmosphere. Share your favorite songs and learn new ones. All playing levels and styles are welcome!

PUPPETONIA – Puppet Shows for Babies and Toddlers
Since its inception, Puppetonia has taught children so much more than just their ABC’s and 123′s. The music and puppet shows incorporate important social skills, early academics, thinking skills, motor skills, and self-expression.
The music is fun and upbeat, and the children are encouraged to move to the rhythm, follow verbal instructions, practice sequential movements, and have a great time. And there are bubbles galore!
